This week has been a week that I never thought would happen. There have been moments on top of the mountain and moments so deep in the valley. It’s hard to put into words what it feels like. Through it all, Jesus never left us. Don’t get me wrong, there have been plenty of times where I felt like God isn’t even here and I’m afraid. That’s just it though. I started thinking about it, and our society is all about “I feel this way”, instead of facts. I felt like God wasn’t with me, because I was focused on myself instead of the fact that God is with me. I started reading the Bible and God always starts out giving a command, followed by a promise. He said multiple times “Do not be afraid, I will never leave you” or “Therefore, go and I will be with you.” He always ends it with “I will be with you”, or something along those lines.

I think people are fearful. When someone is living for the Lord, the devil attacks in so many ways. People doing awful things to you, talking about you, and whatever the devil can do to make you look away from Jesus. And when we look away from Jesus, that’s when fear sets in. When fear overtakes your thinking, it cripples you. You no longer do the things you’re passionate about, because you’re afraid you’ll fail. You no longer do the right thing, because you’re afraid of what people will think about you. You no longer live the best life that God has for you, because you’re afraid of what you’ll look like or what He’ll make you “do”. Fear cripples us. God says He will never leave us. It’s a fact. It’s not just for when we feel like He’s here. He’s always here, in the midst of good and bad. We just have to decide that we’re gonna believe it no matter what we feel.

With all the crazy things happening this week, I am so thankful for my family, & friends for encouraging me and walking with me towards Christ. You guys, it is so important to surround yourself with positive people! We become who we hang around.

I encourage you guys to choose facts, instead of feelings, and love instead of fear. It’s amazing what God can show us and how He can work through us when we’re living out His love.

Thank you for this beautiful message, dear Stephanie. You are learning so much about what it means to be in this world, but not of it. The best thing we can do when all seems wrong is to turn to His blessed Word and remind ourselves of His promises to be with us through it all, and that He is in control no matter what is happening. May God bless you, Sweetie, as you continue to trust in Him alone…and keep sharing!
